This print features a solitary ‘Auku’u (Night Heron) hunting patiently for fish at night, sitting on a partially submerged rock along the Puako coastline. A crescent moon is in the sky above, and Venus is setting brightly over the ocean at the horizon, casting a few ripples of starlight on the darkened water. A He’e (Octopus) hunts in the tidepool below.

THE ARTIST:  CHRISTIAN ENNS

Christian came from a family of artists. Growing up in Santa Barbara, California, his dream was to become a professional artist. Over the past 30 years, Christian has created fine art oil paintings for patrons around the world.

Christian graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Laguna College of Art and Design in California and has studied art in over thirty countries around the world. He transforms his experiences into his work through shifting and exaggerating colors, creating a visual excitement that is reflective of eternity–the mysteries of life and nature unfolded. Currently living seaside in Puako on the Big Island of Hawaii, he enjoys quality time in his studio, spending time with the woman of his dreams, surfing, sculpting, fishing, creating short films, and studying classical art.
